3. This feature is particularly useful for users like teachers and students who can upload documents or files, including text. The audio will walk through key points, saving time and facilitating quick text scanning.

Google launched NotebookLM AI last year, and now it is expanding the audio overview feature in over 50 languages, including Hindi, Turkish, and Afrikaans. The update is to help users by eliminating language hurdles and letting them use NotebookLM in their respective languages.

Now let’s understand this feature in detail.

Features of Google NotebookLM AI

Google is making our lives easier by bringing innovative updates, like the Audio overview feature. Now, what is an audio overview? It is a podcast-type audio summary to help you with notes and study material. All you need to do is upload the doc or file, including the text, and the audio will walk you through the key points. It saves a lot of time and helps you quickly scan the text. Therefore, it instantly went viral soon after the launch.

But do you know who made it possible in 50+ languages so that your language won’t interfere during the work- Google Gemini AI. This update aims to allow individuals to interact in their respective languages easily.

Another feature that makes it more interesting is the Output language, which lets you choose your preferred language. And then the chatbot response, audio summaries, along with the entire system will use the same language accordingly. Also, you can always change your preferred language at any time.

This might be extremely helpful for students, teachers, and anyone working with content in several languages. For example, let’s say a teacher prepares a lecture about the Amazon jungle utilizing a variety of materials, including a Portuguese documentary, a Spanish article, and an English report. Students can upload these to NotebookLM and receive an audio description in their preferred language. It’s an excellent approach to break down language barriers and facilitate learning for everyone.

When one of its articles was tested on direct-to-mobile (D2M) phones, the audio ended in a nine-minute podcast rather than a four-minute read. The two AI hosts spoke properly, with realistic stammering and pauses, giving the audio a human-like quality. Technology also allows customers to choose the emphasis of the chat and personalize the podcast to their needs.

Google initially launched NotebookLM in over 200 countries last year, and with this upgrade, Audio Overviews are now accessible in over 50 languages.
